Journal of Publishing and Criticism (JPC) (Print ISSN: 3107-0892; Online ISSN: 3107-0906) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Hong Kong Information Education Publishing Company Limited. JPC publishes two issues each year in both Chinese and English.
Scope and Topics
The research field of Journal of Publishing and Criticism focuses on the theoretical construction and practical exploration of publishing and criticism research against the background of the interweaving of digital transformation, cross-cultural communication and in-depth cross-media convergence, covering core areas such as digital publishing innovation and industrial form transformation, high-quality development paths of the publishing industry, publishing culture criticism and value interpretation, research on the communication effect and reception aesthetics of publications, construction of publishing ethics and industry norms, cross-media publishing practice and criticism, innovation of publishing research methods, translation and publication of works from China and abroad, as well as exchange and comparative criticism of Chinese and foreign publishing cultures. It is committed to revealing the inherent laws and development trends of publishing and criticism in the new era, exploring innovative experiences and critical wisdom in publishing practice, expanding the theoretical boundaries and application scenarios of publishing and criticism research, and providing a high-level academic exchange platform for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the publishing industry, enhancing the communication power of publishing culture, strengthening the guiding role of publishing criticism, and facilitating academic innovation and high-quality industrial development in the publishing field.
JPC is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication. This sustainable model maintains the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while eliminating financial barriers to knowledge dissemination.
